Bai Tong means “banana leaf” in Thai language, was started by a Thai Airways stewardess in 1989. And was the first genuine Thai cuisine restaurant in Seattle area. Now has three Bai Tong Thai restaurants in Seattle area, in Redmond, Tukwila and Issaquah. The one I frequent is the Redmond restaurant. I find great and fast service, friendly staff, fancy atmosphere, delicious food, authentic Thai cuisine. You can pick the level of spices in a dish. They offer half a dozen curries, from sweet to spicy.
This was such a good meal at Bai Tong, we ordered the following Chicken Satay 4/5 great flavor it just needed a little something extra to make it special but as this is a family favorite I would definitely recommend, it also comes in 5 pieces Green Curry 5/5 OMG I did not realize how good this thing was, my sister who joined us suggested we try green instead of our usual panang curry and oh wow she was right. The spice hits you but I promise you, you will not be able to put this thing down it was so yummy Crab Fried Rice 5/5 YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS GET THIS, listen I have a weakness for fried rice period but there is something so uniquely delicious about their version of this, you wont truly understand until you try it. Koi Soi 4/5 A classic and a favorite, very flavorful I appreciate that they give you the chicken de boned as it helps with serving/eating. This is one of my favorite dishes and Bai Tong does a wonderful job Crispy Garlic Chicken 5/5 So this dish goes between a 4 and a 5 often but only because preparation is key. Luckily this time the chicken was super crispy without being overcooked and it was delicious Pad Thai 4/5 My kids love this and demand that we order it whenever were at a Thai restaurant and the dish here is beautifully executed (pet peeve is when the noodle are over done) perfectly cooked and not overly sweet
Great food!! Appetisers are delicious chicken wrap is recommended. Cashew nut chicken is tongue tingly and so tasty. Pad Thai and fried rice are fully of flavours.
Authentic Thai Flavors with Excellent Service Bai Tong in Redmond is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. The food is consistently flavorful, fresh, and authentic, with a great balance of spices and textures. Their Pad Thai and Panang Curry are must-tries, packed with rich flavors and perfectly cooked proteins. The Tom Yum soup is also a standout, offering just the right amount of tangy and spicy goodness. Beyond the food, the service is exceptional. The staff is warm, attentive, and efficient, making sure every guest feels welcome. The ambiance is inviting, with a cozy yet modern decor that enhances the dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a special night out, Bai Tong never disappoints. Highly recommended!
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impressively quick. Parking is ample, which is a big plus. While there are often wait times, they are usually not too long. The only drawback is the ambience, which could use an upgrade as it shows some signs of wear and tear. Overall, a great spot for tasty Thai cuisine!
Great and consistent thai food. Bai Tong is adorned with certifications and it's easy to see why. A great menu, accessible to all comfort levels with Thai food yet with sophisticated flavours. There are booths, bars, and tables to suit any occasion. I will be coming back to try the other dishes.
I tried the crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli, and I have to say, it’s the best I’ve had in the Seattle area so far! The flavors were on point, though I think the pork could be sliced a bit thinner to enhance its crispiness. The eggplant dish was another highlight—caramelized beautifully, with the ingredients perfectly infused with fresh basil. The Thai tea was outstanding—not overly sweet, with a fresh, aromatic hint of cinnamon. However, the side soup could use improvement as it was served slightly cold. The overall dining experience was excellent. There’s plenty of parking available, and the servers were attentive and hospitable, always keeping our water glasses full. I’ll definitely be back!
Hands down, this is the best Thai restaurant in town! I have been a customer since years and the quality of food and service has never gone down even once. Lots of parking spots available. Keep in mind that it can get really crowded on weekends and wait times are long. Suggesting making reservations during weekends and peak hours. Great ambience and service.
